Design Thinking; a tool for critical thought

The idea that developing critical thinking is a key skill has been around since Perry’s work in 1970s. But how?

When William Perry produced his schema as how students move from certainty that things are right or wrong, to an ability to argue different points of view he showed the importance of critical thinking .

Recent research done with a Leading independent school demonstrates that the tool of Design Thinking is a great resource for developing this ability through

exploring different positions, identifying the challenge, finding a way of exploring more, and with a feedback loop. William Perry found that less than 5% of students had the developed skill. We can do better with Design Thinking.
